***Traffic Notice – Full Closure of West Colonial Drive to Install the Cables/Truss for the Colonial Drive Pedestrian Overpass Bridge. ***  

Feb. 1-2, Feb. 2-3, 2019  

WHAT:
West Colonial Drive will be closed in both directions for two consecutive nights beginning Friday, Feb. 1 and ending Sunday, Feb. 3. The closure will take place between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue so that crews can install cables and truss for the new pedestrian bridge.     

Message boards will go up in advance to notify regular travelers of the upcoming closure. Detour signs will be clearly posted before and along detour routes.    

WHY:
Once the entire project is completed in early spring 2019, this new quarter-mile bridge will help provide a safe connection from the Downtown core to the north, providing critical links between the Orlando Urban Trail and Gertrude’s Walk, SunRail and LYNX Central Station.    

WHEN:
Closures will occur on the following days and times: 

  • Friday, Feb. 1 at 10:00 p.m. through Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 until 6:00 a.m. 
  • Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11:30 p.m. through Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 until 6:00 a.m.   

WHERE:
Full road closure of West Colonial Drive between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue.
